Zoya and Amy are a mother-in-law, daughter-in-law team passionate about family and empowering women to look and feel their best. They opened the doors of Zoya’s Atelier in January 2017, and haven’t looked back since – rapidly expanding their range of designers, receiving a plethora of 5 star reviews, earning a vast number of nationally recognized awards, and earning many loyal customers.
Zoya’s Atelier has quickly become the only place to shop for your special occasion in the Washington DC metro area.
Zoya is an impassioned and creative designer who has 30 years of design experience that enables her to assist brides, and mothers of the bride and groom to choose the perfect gowns for their body shape and style. A graduate of Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) and a one-time instructor at Parsons School of Design, Zoya can also create original ‘one of a kind’ designs using hand-embroidery, hand-beading, crocheting and needlepoint.
After graduating from FIT, Zoya opened her own design studio in New York City, concentrating on custom made couture wedding gowns, evening gowns, suits, dresses and accessories for all occasions. Zoya’s desire and passion for fashion began as a child. Her mother’s love of embroidery, beading and crocheting was passed down to Zoya and is displayed in her pieces of art. Now a mother of three and a grandmother of five, Zoya’s Atelier culminates 30 years of sewing, designing, teaching and dressing women to look their absolute best.
Amy is a British entrepreneur, who relocated with her family from London to Virginia to collaborate with her mother-in-law and create Zoya’s Atelier.
Amy is both an interior designer, fashion stylist and a business professional, bringing with her a decade of business experience at the BBC.
Amy is passionate about family and women’s empowerment. Now a mom of three young children herself, her grandmother Sydney and great-grandmother Bebe owned a women’s boutique in London, England for 30 years, and her fondest childhood memories were working in Alice as a child, picking up the pins on the shop floor as her great-grandmother designed wedding gowns.
